Abstract

This is a special issue in which we have worked hard to offer a broad and updated view of one of the most representative icons of our discipline, which shows the collective and historical nature of the process of building knowledge: the Periodic Table of Elements. chemicals.

We especially thank Drs Plino Sosa Fernández from the Autonomous University of Mexico and Gabriel Pinto Cañón from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, who responded enthusiastically to our invitation to participate with a guest article in the midst of the multiple activities in which they had been developing on the occasion of the celebrations that have been carried out around the world to the Periodic Table.

We also want to thank Dr. Alfo Zambon from the National University of Patagonia, who agreed to share his work with us, noting that he was the only Argentine to participate in the Mendeleev150: 4th International Conference on the Periodic Table held in Saint Petersburg at last July.

Other articles focus on teaching strategies, conceptual reflections, historical reviews, online updates, scientific meetings, all of them referring to the Periodic Table. As always, this issue includes contributions from colleagues, reviews, news and much more...

These more than two hundred pages show how a group of enthusiastic chemistry teachers have joined forces to dedicate it to the Periodic Table. And now, we are redoubling the bet by inviting those groups of teachers who want to co-edit a monographic issue on a particular topic. Cheer up!
